Some jobs need insulation that can take a beating. HD XPS is a high-density extruded polystyrene board made for floors, foundations and other places where the board will be squeezed, splashed or sitting in damp ground for decades.
Built for wet and heavy-duty spotsWater is the enemy of most insulation. HD XPS is fully closed-cell, so moisture can’t soak into the board the way it does with open-cell products. It keeps its shape, its strength and its insulating value, even when conditions aren’t kind. The high density also gives it serious resistance to pressure, so it won’t slump or crush under load.
Because there are no open cells for air and moisture to move through, HD XPS holds heat in during winter and helps keep it out in summer. Less heat loss means a more comfortable building and lower energy demand over time, which is a win for owners and occupants alike.
